This solar lighted house number makes your address easy to read after dark. A built-in solar panel charges the internal battery during the day, and the light turns on automatically after dark, so there is no electrical wiring or outdoor outlet involved. Each character is sold as its own piece, choose from the numbers 0 to 9 and the letters A, B, C and D, so you can build any address and add or swap a digit later. Each character stands about 15.2cm tall. Lighting time depends on sunlight, weather, season and placement.

Mount each character in a spot that gets several hours of direct sunlight, away from heavy shade, deep covered porches and walls blocked by trees or rooflines. It is rated IP44, which makes it splash resistant, and mounting under an eave or overhang helps it last longer. Mark the mounting points, secure each piece, switch it on and let it charge in full sun before first use. Pair it with a matching mailbox for a tidy entry.

• Cleaning: Dust with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and spraying liquid directly on the item.
• Lighting safety: Switch off the power and let bulbs cool before cleaning or changing them. Use the bulb type and wattage listed in the description.
• Hardwired fixtures: Ceiling lights, pendants and wired wall sconces should be installed by a licensed electrician in line with local building codes. Plug-in lamps are ready to use with a standard US outlet.
• Outdoor and solar: Place solar panels where they get several hours of direct sunlight a day, and bring delicate pieces indoors during severe weather.
• Mirrors and wall decor: Hang with wall anchors rated for the item's weight, and check the fixings from time to time.
