Japandi Rope Wrapped Pendant Light, Oak Core

This Japandi pendant light has a bold double-cone, spindle shape wrapped by hand in natural totora rope. Vertical fiber lines run around the shade, and a solid oak core passes through its center, grounding the soft texture with a touch of timber. The look blends minimalist calm with rustic Scandinavian warmth and suits natural-fiber, wabi-sabi and Japandi rooms.

The fibrous shade surrounds a central bulb and lets light glow softly through the wrap, highlighting its texture and casting a warm, relaxed light. It takes one E27 bulb, sold separately. Choose a straight wood, natural wood or black wood handle, in three diameters: 30cm, 45cm or 62cm. The small size suits a bedside or nook, while the largest makes a strong statement in a double-height living room or over a dining table. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

It is made from totora rope with a solid natural oak axis, and it stays light for its size. Dust the rope gently with a soft brush or a vacuum on low with a brush attachment, and keep it dry. Use a low-heat LED bulb. Pair the natural wood version with linen, clay and oak furniture, or choose black wood for a sharper outline against pale walls.

• Cleaning: Dust with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and spraying liquid directly on the item.
• Lighting safety: Switch off the power and let bulbs cool before cleaning or changing them. Use the bulb type and wattage listed in the description.
• Hardwired fixtures: Ceiling lights, pendants and wired wall sconces should be installed by a licensed electrician in line with local building codes. Plug-in lamps are ready to use with a standard US outlet.
• Outdoor and solar: Place solar panels where they get several hours of direct sunlight a day, and bring delicate pieces indoors during severe weather.
• Mirrors and wall decor: Hang with wall anchors rated for the item's weight, and check the fixings from time to time.
