Wabi-Sabi Rice Paper Table Lamp, Iron Tripod Base

Inspired by traditional tiered mulberry paper lanterns, this wabi-sabi table lamp stacks soft, rounded chambers of rice paper into a sculptural cocoon shape. Internal ribbing gives the shade gentle structure and texture, while a slim black iron tripod lifts it off the table. The result feels handmade and serene, bringing quiet Japanese craft to bedrooms, studies, lofts and minimalist living rooms with Japandi or modern coastal style.

When lit, the paper glows from within and casts a tranquil, low-glare light that softens the whole room. It is a lovely choice for evening reading, a calm bedside atmosphere or a gentle accent on a dining sideboard. The lamp takes an E27 base bulb, and a low-heat LED bulb is a sensible choice for a paper shade. It comes in a natural parchment White shade with a fixed matte black support.

The shade is rice paper over internal ribs, and the base is iron. Dust the paper very gently with a soft, dry brush or a hair dryer on a cool setting, and keep it away from moisture. Place it on a nightstand beside a stack of books and a ceramic cup, or set two on a low console for a soft Japandi glow in the living room.

• Cleaning: Dust with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and spraying liquid directly on the item.
• Lighting safety: Switch off the power and let bulbs cool before cleaning or changing them. Use the bulb type and wattage listed in the description.
• Hardwired fixtures: Ceiling lights, pendants and wired wall sconces should be installed by a licensed electrician in line with local building codes. Plug-in lamps are ready to use with a standard US outlet.
• Outdoor and solar: Place solar panels where they get several hours of direct sunlight a day, and bring delicate pieces indoors during severe weather.
• Mirrors and wall decor: Hang with wall anchors rated for the item's weight, and check the fixings from time to time.
