Wide Cone Rattan Pendant Light, Handwoven

Wide, shallow and handwoven, this rattan pendant light has a low coolie-cone shape that draws the eye outward. Radiating fiber lines give it a gentle sense of movement, and the natural material brings warmth and texture to the room. It works well in coastal homes, boho living rooms, open-plan spaces and kitchens, and it pairs easily with Japandi and modern farmhouse decor.

The broad, shallow shade sends a wide wash of light downward, making it a good choice over a large kitchen island or a dining table. It takes one E27 bulb, sold separately. Choose natural or brown rattan, in diameters of 40cm, 50cm or 60cm, so you can scale it to the room. A secure, low-profile mount keeps the lines clean, and an internal wire frame holds the weave in shape. Installation by a licensed electrician is recommended.

It is made from handwoven natural rattan over an internal wire framework. Dust it with a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment, and keep it away from moisture. Use a low-heat LED bulb. The natural shade looks fresh with white walls and linen, while brown suits darker wood and earthy tones. Hang two over a long table, or mix sizes at different heights, for a relaxed, layered look.

• Cleaning: Dust with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive pads and spraying liquid directly on the item.
• Lighting safety: Switch off the power and let bulbs cool before cleaning or changing them. Use the bulb type and wattage listed in the description.
• Hardwired fixtures: Ceiling lights, pendants and wired wall sconces should be installed by a licensed electrician in line with local building codes. Plug-in lamps are ready to use with a standard US outlet.
• Outdoor and solar: Place solar panels where they get several hours of direct sunlight a day, and bring delicate pieces indoors during severe weather.
• Mirrors and wall decor: Hang with wall anchors rated for the item's weight, and check the fixings from time to time.
